Brahmastra is definitely one of the most highly awaited films of the year. Ayan Mukerji’s magnum opus promises to be a visual treat, and is backed by a stellar cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna. Shah Rukh Khan will also make a cameo appearance in the film, and fans’ excitement was through the roof when footage from the film featuring the star seemed to surface online. The footage seemed to suggest that Khan will essay a character who wields the Vanarastura, powered by the might of Lord Hanuman. Interestingly, the actor was almost offered a role in a Hollywood film based on the story of Hanuman.

According to a report in The Indian Express, Khan had spoken about the same during an interview with Taran Adarsh in 2011. The actor revealed that he had been approached by Tony Scott for a superhero film based on the stories of Hanuman. The late director has several popular Hollywood films to his name such as Top Gun (1986), Beverly Hills Cop II (1987), Days of Thunder (1990), Enemy of the State (1998) and more.

The actor revealed that Scott had sent him a concept for the film many years back, where Hanuman was depicted as a superhero who could use his tail to fight bad guys. Khan said that it was a ‘fantastic’ presentation.

Brahmastra: Part One Shiva is slated to hit the big screen on September 9.

Meanwhile, Khan is gearing up for the release of his film Pathaan next year, which marks his first major big screen release in almost 4 years. The actor will also be a part of Atlee’s Jawan as well as Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki. Khan will also play a cameo role in Salman Khan’s Tiger 3.
