Lynne Ramsay’s Die My Love starring Jennifer Lawrence & Robert Pattinson, is now on MUBI India. The acclaimed Cannes drama explores isolation and a mother’s mental spiral in rural Montana.

On January 23, 2026, the psychological drama Die My Love starring Robert Pattinson and Jennifer Lawrence and directed by Lynne Ramsay, officially began streaming on MUBI India. This came after the film's iconic debut at the 78th Cannes Film Festival in late 2025 and its highly publicised theatrical run.

The idea for the film came from Martin Scorsese's recommendation of Ariana Harwicz's 2012 book Die, My Love to Excellent Cadaver, Lawrence's production firm. Thereafter, the actor and her business partner Justine Ciarrocchi roped in Ramsay to helm the project and contribute to its screenplay alongside Enda Walsh and Alice Birch. After spending almost $24 million, MUBI has secured distribution rights for numerous markets, including India, making this film their biggest acquisition to date.
The plot of Die My Love centres on the relationship between Grace (Lawrence) and Jackson (Pattinson) in a rural, isolated part of Montana. To start a fresh chapter in their lives together before having a kid of their own, the couple relocates to a country house that was left to them by Jackson's uncle.

The storyline shifts as Grace spirals into insanity and severe postpartum depression. Jackson puts in a lot of time as a musician and worker to fix up their house, but Grace stays home alone with their baby. As a result of being alone, people's minds start to unravel, leading to irrational actions, sex dissatisfaction, and violent episodes. Throughout the film, we see Grace struggle with the expectations placed on her by society as a wife and mother, as well as her sense of self as a writer.
In her role as Grace, Lawrence gives what many have called a "feral" and the finest performance of her career. She was nominated for Best Actor (Female) in a Motion Picture—Drama at the 2026 Golden Globes for her performance. Pattinson plays Jackson a man who is increasingly unable to bridge the emotional and psychological gap between him and his partner.
Sissy Spacek plays Jackson's mother, Pam, who stands in for Grace's own sadness and offers a disturbing mirror to her battle. Nick Nolte, who plays Jackson's father, and LaKeith Stanfield, who plays an enigmatic neighbourhood biker, complete the supporting cast.
Since the film received a six-minute standing ovation at Cannes, audiences have expressed varying opinions, yet critics have consistently praised it. Seamus McGarvey's cinematography has been praised for its use of strange lighting and hazy focus, which reflects Grace's mental decline.
George Vjestica, Raife Burchell, and Lynne Ramsay's obtrusive and evocative score has garnered acclaim for the film's sound design as well. With this technical approach, the makers wanted the audience to feel the same sensory overload that the character is experiencing. The film was nominated for four IFTA Awards earlier this week, including Best Cinematography and Best International Actress.
