Dies Irae box office collection day 11: Pranav Mohanlal impressed with his first horror thriller film, which had an impressive start at the ticket window. But Dies Irae dropped below Rs 1 crore for the first time as the Rahul Sadasivan film completed 11 days at the box office. Despite the major drop, Dies Irae has become the sixth highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2025.

The 2025 horror thriller Dies Irae The Day of Wrath made only Rs 0.65 crore on day 11, which is its second Monday at the box office. The total India net collection stands at Rs 35.40 crore, as per figures on the trade tracking website Sacnilk. But with a worldwide collection of Rs 71.5 crore, Dies Irae is in the sixth spot of highest-grossing Malayalam films of 2025. Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan, tops the list as the only Malayalam film with over Rs 300 crore.

Mohanlal dominates the list with three of his hit films - Thudarum, L2: Empuraan, Hridayapoorvam. The only other film ahead of Dies Irae is the other young star Naslen K Gafoor’s Alappuzha Gymkhana.

Though Dies Irae has seen a drop, the horror thriller is expected to pick up in the coming days. As no other major film is scheduled for release this Friday. The next big release from Malayalam is Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Vilayath Buddha, slated to hit theatres on November 21. But surprisingly, Prithviraj has not kick-started any promotions for the Jayan Nambiar directorial.

Dies Irae reception

Dies Irae too had released in theatres on October 31, with no promotions though the paid premieres on October 30 gave overwhelmingly positive feedback which helped the film in a big way.

Director Rahul Sadasivan’s latest horror film follows Rohan, who gets spooked by scary paranormal activities at his home after his ex-girlfriend dies by suicide.
