Dies Irae box office collection day 5: The latest Malayalam horror thriller, starring Pranav Mohanlal in the lead, saw a dip in its India net collections, with Rs 2.50 crore collected on its fifth day, as per trade tracker Sacnilk. Despite the dip, Dies Irae: The Day of Wrath has made it to the top 10 highest-grossing films of Malayalam in 2025. Here’s a look at the horror film’s worldwide collection, and the breakup.

Dies Irae, helmed by Rahul Sadasivan, made Rs 22.25 crore in total India net collections, Sacnilk has reported. The film recorded its lowest figures till now with just Rs 2.5 crore earned on day 5, but that was expected considering it was a working Tuesday. But significantly, the Pranav Mohanlal-starrer made it to the top 10 highest-grossers in Malayalam which is led by Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra in India net collections. Thudarum and Empuraan, both films of Malayalam superstar and Pranav’s father Mohanlal, are in the second and third spots. Dies Irae is in the ninth spot with Rs 44.25 crore worldwide collections, and is expected to cross Rs 50 crore shortly.

Earlier, the horror thriller had become the third biggest opener in Malayalam of the year, behind Mohanlal’s L2 Empuraan and Thudarum.

Dies Irae had also beaten Unni Mukundan’s violent actioner Marco’s record of being the biggest opener for an A-rated movie, when the horror film made Rs 12 crore in opening collections, as per reports. The Pranav-starrer saw its highest collections with Rs 6.35 crore on Sunday, day 3.

The only two Malayalam films scheduled to release in theatres on November 7 are Innocent, starring Althaf Salim and Anarkali Marikar, and Ithiri Neram, with Roshan Mathew and Zarin Shihab in the lead. Dies Irae had opened to positive reviews with its first set of paid premieres on the night of October 30, followed by the worldwide release on October 31.
