For third time in a row, director Rahul Sadasivan is helming a horror film after Bramayugam and Bhoothakaalam. As the film is gearing up for its big screen release on October 31 right in time for Halloween, the makers released another trailer of the Pranav Mohanlal film.

Malayalam cinema is gearing up for yet another horror film with the upcoming Dies Irae. Pranav Mohanal, last seen in a small role in L2: Empuraan, will be leading the project. The makers on Saturday dropped the release trailer of Dies Irae.

The release trailer which has an eerie tone overall, begins with an equally eerie music, with Pranav Mohanal sitting in isolation at a home, where something is not okay. Lights flicker, and Pranav's film tells us that it is based on 'some true events. A mighty and mysterious voiceover sends some chills, while Pranav's character seems to be going through some horrific emotions. The voiceover talks about the dead waking up, and a woman (presumably dead) opening her eyes. Much like the director’s previous films, Dies Irae too looks like minimal on casting, but technically strong.

Dies Irae cast and crew:

Written and directed by Rahul Sadasivan, the film has been censored A, with a runtime of nearly two hours. Jibin Gopinath, Jaya Kurup and Arun Ajikumar form rest of the cast. With cinematographer Shehnad Jalal cranking the camera, the film has music by Christo Xavier and is edited by Shafique Mohamed Ali.

With the release date of Dies Irae set for October 31, the film marks Rahul’s third outing in the horror genre after Mammootty’s Bramayugam and Shane Nigam-starrer Bhoothakaalam. Both the films, which received positive reception, are available to watch on SonyLIV via OTTplay Premium.
