Don 3 is one of the most-awaited films and the third instalment of the superhit franchise, Don. The film has been making headlines ever since Farhan Akhtar announced it. The shooting of the film was supposed to begin last year, but it was delayed multiple times for various reasons. Now, a new report suggests that both Ranveer Singh and Vikrant Massey are set to begin shooting for the film.

News18 reported that Ranveer Singh and Vikrant Massey will begin their shoot for Don 3 in September. A source informed the portal, “Farhan is nearing the end of 120 Bahadur. Ranveer has also finished shooting for a major portion of Dhurandar. And so, they wouldn’t want to wait any longer before beginning filming for Don 3. The first schedule is scheduled for September this year. Both Ranveer and Vikrant Massey, who plays the antagonist, will be a part of it."

Earlier, speaking to Raj Shamani, Farhan Akhtar revealed opened up about why he chose to cast Ranveer for Don 3 instead of Shah Rukh Khan. He said that the kind of script they were writing, what he wanted to do with it, needed this next generation of actors and Ranveer was the perfect choice.

Praising Ranveer's carefree, mischievous, and full of energy vibes, Farhan also said, "Don requires a very different kind of performance from him. There is a certain holding everything inside that is needed for this character which I don't think he has done so I feel, for him also, it is a nice challenge to be able to do this. You will see him in a different way."
