Although 2 films old, with Bad Manners and Rudra Garuda Purana, Priyanka’s social media handles do not have any information about either. Did she intentionally remove everything to start afresh with a clean slate? “Oh no, there’s no such intention. I’m not trying to hide my earlier work on social media. People can see that information if they just run an internet search. I wanted my Instagram page to be a gallery of my pictures for prospective film teams to see how I look,” says Priyanka, speaking to FDFS Kannada.

Priyanka Kumar: When I got the call for Doora Theera Yaana, I was pleasantly surprised

As for Doora Theera Yaana, which, Mansore describes as a story about love and not a love story, Priyanka admits that when she was approached for the role, she had not seen most of his earlier works, except Act 1978. Of course, since then she has caught up with the rest, but when she got the call, she assumed it would be for a serious, socially-relevant, Mansore kind of film.

When she then met him for the script narration, Priyanka says that she was pleasantly surprised when he told her he was working on a love subject, which was new for him too. “And then, when I heard the story, it as even more surprising. It is not like any routine love story we’ve seen in commercial films. It’s a very sensible and mature approach to a relationship and I believe that it will be highly relatable to audiences. There’s a beautiful message in this film,” she adds.
