Dulquer Salmaan was back with his A-game in Lucky Baskhar which won over audiences and critics. The Telugu film, directed by Venky Atluri, ensured that DQ remained a force to reckon with. But Dulquer Salmaan, who has been busy with films in other languages lately, is all set to return to his home turf of Malayalam cinema with DQ 40. The project, which will be directed by Nahas Hidhayath, has been announced officially and here's everything we know so far.

Dulquer Salmaan announces DQ 40 with Nahas Hidhayath

Dulquer Salmaan took to his social media account a while ago to officially announce his next project, which has been tentatively titled DQ40. The upcoming Malayalam movie will be helmed by Nahas Hidhayath, who is known for the action-packed RDX: Robert Dony Xavier. Dulquer also shared a poster, which stated that the title of the movie will be revealed at 5pm on March 1. The film is presented by DQ's Wayfarer Films.

No other details were revealed on social media. Reports about Dulquer Salmaan collaborating with RDX director Nahas Hidhayath had been doing the rounds on social media for a while now. Now, the south star himself has confirmed the reports, which has got the fans excited. Several netizens dropped fire emoji in the comments section. Some fans also commented ‘waiting’ and ‘super excited’ too.

Cinephiles are especially curious to know what kind of project will be DQ 40 as Dulquer joins hands with the RDX director. DQ's last Malayalam film was King of Kotha in 2023.

Dulquer Salmaan’s films

Dulquer Salmaan’s last major release was Lucky Baskhar which set the box office ringing last year. Venky Atluri’s film narrates the tale of a middle-class man who resorts to financial frauds to support his family after he is passed over for promotion at the bank where he works. Meenakshi Chaudhary plays the female lead in the film.

Dulquer was also seen in Prabhas’ film Kalki 2898 A last year. Notably, both these are Telugu films.
