Drishyam director Jeethu Joseph heaps praise on Anoop Menon’s investigative thriller 21 Grams

Director Bibin Krishna’s 21 Grams won its best praise yet, with the master of crime thrillers Jeethu Joseph appreciating the film after watching the Anoop Menon-starrer recently. The Drishyam filmmaker took to his social media page to share the news.

Jeethu said that 21 Grams was a “well-knitted mystery movie” and its suspense was the “highlight”. He also congratulated the team on working in the investigative thriller. Anoop Menon shared the shared the post, and expressed his gratitude for the same.

The film revolves around an investigation carried out by crime branch DySP Nanda Kishor (Anoop) after a double homicide. The suspect list that Nanda and his team narrow down are soon eliminated by the killer, and the cops now have to race against time to catch the culprit before its too late.

21 Grams, which marked Bibin’s debut film, also has Leona Lishoy, Anu Mohan and G Chandunath. Incidentally, all three of them are also part of Jeethu Joseph’s upcoming movie 12th Man, which is also a murder mystery.

The upcoming movie, which has Mohanlal in the lead, is expected to release on Disney+ Hotstar on April 14 as part of the streamer’s Vishu release. This also marks Mohanlal and Jeethu’s second consecutive direct-to-OTT release after Drishyam 2 had dropped on Amazon Prime Video in February 2021.

Jeethu, meanwhile, is currently busy with Kooman, which has Asif Ali and Hannah Reji Koshy as part of the cast. On the movie, the filmmaker had earlier told us that it’s a thriller and has enough scope of performance for the actors.

The filmmaker is also set to resume shooting for Mohanlal’s action-thriller Ram later this year in London. The movie, which also has Indrajith Sukumaran, Trisha and Chandunath, had completed two schedules ahead of the pandemic. The big budget film also has Bollywood actor Adil Hussain in a pivotal role.
