In a lengthy post on social media, Dulquer Salmaan extended his appreciation to his fans for their support of the Hindi version of his recently-released movie, Sita Ramam.

“A very big thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the Hindi audiences for the love extended toward Sita Ramam's theatrical release,” the actor wrote in the caption of a series of photos he posted on Instagram.

Dulquer went on to say, “The love continues to flow and strengthens every day. Our team's reunion was indeed warm.”

The Hindi version of the period romantic film was released on September 2.

Sita Ramam, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi; also starring Rashmika Mandanna and Mrunal Thakur, was released on August 5, 2022, in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.

Many South Indian movies, including Baahubali Pushpa and KGF, have received a great deal of support from the Hindi-speaking crowd, in recent years.

Set in the 1960s, Sita Ramam, traces the journey of Lieutenant Ram, played by Dulquer, who sets on a journey to find Sita Mahalakshmi, played by Mrunal, to propose his love for her. This love grows when he starts receiving love letters from Sita.

Love blossoms despite Ram and Sita having never met, much like Aparna Sen's The Japanese Wife. Ram embarks on a journey to meet his ‘love’. The rest of the narrative is made up of his encounter with Mrunal Thakur, who plays Sita, and their developing friendship.

The appeal of classic love stories never fades. This Telugu romance is capturing audiences' hearts throughout India during the post-pandemic period when directors are fighting to draw audiences back to theatres.

Meanwhile, actor Dulquer Salmaan will be next seen in an upcoming psychological thriller film Chup alongside Sunny Deol, Shreya Dhanwanthary and Pooja Bhatt.

Helmed by R Balki, the film is all set to hit the theatres on September 23.
