When will Dune: Part Three release

The third instalment of the Dune franchise is coming to cinemas next year on December 18, 2026. While the first flick was released in 2021 and won a staggering 6 Oscars at the 94th Academy Awards, the second installment was released in 2024 and secured two Oscars at the 97th Academy Awards.

What to expect from Dune: Part Three

The third installment promises to be a lot darker than its predecessors. Dune: Part Three claims to highlight the tragic fallout of Paul Atreides. Instead of celebrating his victory, the movie will focus on the heavy burdens he will be carrying now. It's a direct sequel to Dune: Part Two, and explores the terrible consequences of his choices, showing how his ascent led to a war that needs to be stopped.

The story picks up twelve years after the events of Part Two, with Paul now as the ruler and struggling to maintain his control. The third instalment seeks to portray how he's trapped in his own success, unable to prevent the war which he foresaw engulfing the universe. Dune: Part Three will delve into Paul's struggle to keep his throne and his sanity as he faces off his enemies, both from his own empire and outsiders.
