Ek Villain Returns is all set to hit the big screens this week, continuing its saga of love and vengeance. Fans’ excitement seem to be palpable ever since the film’s trailer gave a glimpse of what is to come, teasing a story that is both unsettling and thrilling. The trailer has already garnered more than 45 million likes, and a lot of netizens seemed intrigued by the story as well. The film is gearing up to hit the big screens on July 29, Friday. But in some good news for fans who will not be able to catch the action on the big screen, the film has locked in on an OTT platform already.

Ek Villain Returns will be available to stream on Netflix after its theatrical run. An OTT release date for the action thriller, however, is yet to be announced.

The upcoming film’s trailer hints at a story which involves the emergence of a dreaded serial killer, who murders women who have one sided lovers, declaring himself to be the messiah of the heartbroken. But an intriguing connection exists between the way he chooses his targets and his own love story.

Arjun Kapoor, John Abraham, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria star in the action thriller directed by Mohit Suri. The film is a standalone sequel to Suri’s 2014 film, Ek Villain, which starred Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh in lead roles. Deshmukh also makes an appearance in the sequel, set 8 years after the original, in the form of archival footage.

During the film’s trailer launch event Kapoor had revealed that he was offered a part in Ek Villain as well, which he had to turn down due to his previous commitments. The actor said that his role in the sequel was ‘meant to be’.

Ek Villain Returns is produced by Suri, Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar.
