Emergency: Ready or not, Kangana Ranaut’s first look as Indira Gandhi will be revealed tomorrow

Kangana Ranaut is all set to reveal the first look from her upcoming film, Emergency on July 14. The actress has revealed the same through her Instagram story. Kangana revealed where the look would be out.

Taking to Instagram, Kangana shared that the first look from Emergency will be out on her YouTube channel. By her YouTube channel, Kangana said that it would be out on her production house Manikarnika Films’ YouTube channel.

The actress had often shared photos from her prep on the film. However, Kangana did not even give a hint about what her look – as Indira Gandhi – in the movie is. Now, the mystery will finally be out of the bag within a day.

Many actresses have played Indira Gandhi in the recent past. However, one that remains memorable is Lara Dutta Bhupati’s role as Indira Gandhi in BellBottom. The actress’ look did most of her work into transforming into Indira Gandhi. The two in fact shared so much resemblance that it was difficult to distinguish Lara from the former Indian PM.

Whether Kangana will be able to come close or nail the look, remains to be seen. Emergency will, however, see her in the role of Indira Gandhi throughout, unlike Lara in BellBottom.

Like the name suggests, Emergency is a movie based on the times when Emergency was declared in India. The film will try to explore Indira Gandhi’s perspective in the situation and why she felt that Emergency was the need of the hour.

The Emergency, which occurred in the late 70s, gave rise to a scary situation in India. Many families had to live in fear because of internal disturbance and mass campaign for vasectomy started by Indira’s son, Sanjay Gandhi.

Kangana was last seen in Dhaakad, which did not work its magic at the Box Office. The movie is currently available for streaming on Zee5.
