The year 2023 saw the biggest rivalry between Barbie and Oppenheimer, and despite fighting with equal fan following, both the films have earned a hefty amount at the box office. While Barbie created history in many aspects – 1. the first billion-dollar film of 2023, 2. the first film directed by a woman to collect such an amount, and Oppenheimer created history by being Christopher Nolan's first historical drama that became the third highest grosser in 2023.

However, as the year has come to an end, Emily Blunt, who played the role of Katherine Oppenheimer, the wife of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the Father of Atomic Bomb. Even though Emily is the female lead in the film, she was cast in for more like a supporting character. Cillian Murphy played the titular role of Oppenheimer.

Emily Blunt's secret

Recently in an exclusive interview with Variety, she spilled some beans about the film, after four months of its release. Emily shared that the book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer, inspired her a lot to make her understand the storyline, and then play the character of Katherine better.

Emily could stop praising Katherine Oppenheimer. She shared that Katherine was an amazing person, she had a startling personality, she was very unusual, she was pretty fierce. Emily shared that the book has helped her unlock many mysteries about Katherine Oppenheimer.

Emily Blunt praised Cillian Murphy

Emily also praised Cillian’s beautiful performance, which kept her wondering about his creativity level. Blunt shared that Murphy’s performance can vividly show you Oppenheimer’s trauma in life.
