American actor Michael Keaton has won his first ever Primetime Emmy award under the Best Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for his role in Dopesick as Dr. Samuel Finnix.

The Emmy Awards 2022 is the one of the first major award shows to happen this year to happen in a more 'normal' setting since the pandemic hit us back in 2020. \

As reported by ABC News, it was a full show at the red carpet this year with the entire ceremony taking place infdoors like it used to and in front of a full studio audience at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Interestingly, it is also the first major Emmys is being broadcasted live since Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards.

Host Kenan Thompson, who is also marking his debut as emcee of the Emmys, joked about how Zendaya cannot date Leonardo DiCaprio as she recently turned 26, and took multiple digs at streaming giant Ntflix for losing subscribers.

“This should be a night of appreciating artistry and creativity and removing the stress of it all out,” he was quoted as saying by The Associated Press.

For the unversed, Dopesick focusses on how the opioid epidemic had started in America. The series is set in a small American mining community and how its residents are ravaged by OxyContin addiction.
