The team of Kiccha Sudeep’s next, the 3D fantasy-action-drama Vikrant Rona, are looking at releasing it in as many as 14 different languages, of which at least 5 will have Sudeep’s original voice for his character. In fact, the team had proudly announced that there is an English version and had released a teaser for which Sudeep had provided vocals. The actor, we are told, has dubbed for his character in the Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi versions, languages that he is comfortable with, and is still working on the English dubbing.

The latest buzz is that this English version may not make it in time for the July 28 release deadline, as Sudeep is currently crazily-busy with the promotions of the film, given that it is due in theatres in less than 3 weeks. Director Anup Bhandari had earlier told us that he is still working on the post-production and fine-tuning of the film, a process that he thinks will go on for a bit more, which is giving him no time to have pre-release jitters or excitement, for that matter. A source tells us that there won’t be too much of a delay, and that the English version should also be ready within a week of the rest.

Vikrant Rona is Anup’s first film with Sudeep. A mystery thriller set in an earlier time period, the film is rumoured to have a strong connect to Anup’s debut directorial Rangitaranga. The trailer of the film has a split second shot of a news clipping of an incident involving the death of a young girl at Kamarottu Junction. Kamarottu is where the story of Rangitaranga unfolds. It has also been pointed out that a well has significance in both films, pointing to a strong connection between them. Anup, though, has been non-committal and said that audiences ought to figure out if there is a connect when they see Vikrant Rona on July 28.
