Annaatthe is likely to release in theatres soon.

As the COVID-19 Unlock Phase begins, superstars are now ready to promote and release their movies in theatres. One such megastar happens to be Rajinikanth, who is planning a surprise for his fans. The actor will reveal the first look of his upcoming movie Annaatthe very soon.
According to a report on Times of India, Rajini will share the first look of Annaatthe on August 12. The day will also mark director Siruthai Siva's 44th birthday. An official announcement regarding the first look is yet awaited.
Currently, Rajinikanth, Meena, Khushbu and Sathish are dubbing for the movie. The film also features Nayanthara in a pivotal role. Apart from that, a small portion of the film will also be shot in Kolkata soon after the first look will be revealed.
Annaatthe will feature Rajinikanth as a village president. The storyline of the film is not yet out.
The movie is produced by Sun Pictures. The makers are yet to reveal a release date for the rural entertainer which is likely to release in theatres.
Rajinikanth was last seen in Darbar which released in 2020. Helmed by Aaditya Arunachalam, the film became one of Rajinikanth’s highest grossing movies ever. The film can now be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
The megastar played the role of a police officer in the movie. He took up the part after 27 years of his film career. The actor was previously seen as a cop in the 1992 film Pandiyan.
Similarly, he has played the role of a village head in various films before Annaatthe.
