Exclusive! Flames Season 3 actress Tanya Maniktala: Now I know my character Ishita like a best friend

Though she became a much-loved actress post-release of A Suitable Boy, actress Tanya Maniktala reveals what keeps her emotionally attached to the show Flames, which is coming up with its third season

Tanya Maniktala started her career as an actress with the show Flames season 1, which was released in 2018 when she was still a student, balancing her study and shooting schedules. Though she didn't know how big the show will become, and her character Ishita. Three seasons later the actress looked back and said now Ishita and Tanya are best friends.

In a conversation with OTTplay just before the release of the new season of the show, Tanya said, " I think now I know Ishita just like my best friend. So, I hold this show Flames very close to my heart and so as my character because it all started from here. Playing a character that is innocent, going through a transformative age that every teenager goes through, makes Ishita very adorable. The way she looks at friendship, such a special bond with her friend Rajat...everything is just heart-warming!"

After she gained prominence as an actress with the show Flames, she went on to become one of the promising young actresses, and appeared in multiple projects including an anthology - Feels Like Ishq, web series like Chutzpah, How To Fall In Love and most importantly A Suitable Boy, directed by iconic filmmaker Mira Nair.

Interestingly she has also finished shooting for a Santosh Sivan directorial titled Mumbaikar in which she will be sharing screen space with Vijay Sethupathi and Vikrant Massey.

The story of Flames is set in Delhi and revolves around a bunch of students in their teens, who met at their coaching class and how their interpersonal relationship takes the center-stage though in reality, they should focus on their preparation for the 12th board exam.

The web series Flames Season 3, directed by Divyanshu Malhotra, and produced by Arunabh Kumar, featuring - Ritvik Sahore, Tanya Maniktala, Sunakshi Grover and Shivam Kakar - releases on Prime Video on October 28.
