The age-old debate and bias continues. After many Bollywood actresses spoke about their male counterparts being treated like royalty, now Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke actress Regina Cassandra revealed that she was once told about a stereotype revolving around Bollywood actors’ careers in comparison to Bollywood actress’. Regina was ‘warned’ that an actress’ career lasts only for five years.

Regina, currently seen in the lead role in Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke, entered the industry back in 2011. That is when someone made the statement to her. Despite that, Regina made her debut with the intention of proving her worth as an actor and wanting to make a career in acting.

“People told me things like ‘for an actress it's only the five years to figure out what you gonna do,’ which I found to be very derogatory,” Regina spilled while talking about changing times. In 2011, actresses had just started coming on posters and even then, they had to share frame with their male counterparts.

Of course, there has been a massive change since. Now, there’s not only women-led roles in films and on TV but also on OTT. Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke, streaming on Zee5, is one of the examples of that.

Regina feels that more female-led roles need to be out there on OTT. She feels that would be an appropriate answer to the assumptions being made.

Directed by Srijit Mukherji, Jaanbaaz Hindustan Ke stars Barun Sobti, Sumeet Vyas, Mita Vashisht, Chandan Roy and Gayathrie apart from Regina. The show is now streaming on Zee5 and OTTplay Premium.
