Yes, you heard it right! OTTplay has it from a source associated with Vikrant Rona that the team is looking at building a franchise out of it, starting with a sequel.

“Vikrant Rona is a tale that fascinated Sudeep so much that he asked director Anup Bhandari to start it first, instead of their earlier announced collaboration Billa Ranga Bhasha. The team has not fixed a release date for Vikrant Rona and Sudeep is currently free to take up other acting commitments. There have been murmurs of other collaborations, but Sudeep is apparently keen to get cracking on the sequel as soon as possible. Anup is already working on the script and if all goes well, they could go on floors by the end of the year or early next. The idea is to retain the core team of the original, both cast and crew included,” says our source, adding that T-Series and Lahari music recently acquired the rights to the film’s music by composer Ajaneesh Loknath. While Ajaneesh has earlier worked on both of Anup’s directorial projects, the sleeper hit RangiTaranga and Rajaratha, this is his first film with Sudeep.

Vikrant Rona is Sudeep’s much-awaited multi-lingual action adventure flick that was earlier slated for an August 19 release in 3D. However, the makers, Shalini Arts, Kichcha Creations and Invenio Films, decided to make way for his Kotigobba 3 first. Much like most big-ticket Kannada films, this too is being marketed as a pan-Indian project, with the team targeting a 14-language release. The film, which has been captured for the screen by cinematographer William David, has Nirup Bhandari, Neetha Ashok, Ravishankar Gowda and Bollywood star Jacqueline Fernandez in pivotal roles.
