Actress Akansha Ranjan Kapoor is enjoying the love and appreciation that she has been receiving from the audience for her performance in the recently-released multi-starrer film, Monica, O My Darling.

As this was her third OTT release, the young actress, in conversation with OTTplay, told us that she now wishes to see herself on the big screen.

Her debut in the entertainment business was with the film Guilty. The film that released on Netflix was well appreciated. This was followed by the web series Ray. Akansha's third project — a big-budget one at that — is Monica, O My Darling, which was released globally on Netflix.

Akansha told OTTplay, "Monica, O My Darling is a beautiful film with so many different colours and wonderful music that I wish it had released theatrically. "Imagine...those visuals would have been so magical to watch on the big screen, hai na?(smiles) I feel fortunate for everything that I have got so far, but I now want to see myself on a 70-mm screen."

Having said that, the actress admits that OTT releases have given her the chance to grow her audience, set by step.

"We are still going through a tough time and the box office has taken a beating. For a new actor like myself, OTT is a safe place to be on; at least people notice our work there gradually. If a film does not work at the box office for whatever reason, many times, even really talented actors get written off, and good performances get unnoticed. That way, my generation of new actors, who are starting their careers on OTT platforms, have secured audiences. We are lucky. Having said that, I want more love from the audience and I want to see myself on the big screen. The theatrical experience is magical!" the actress signed off.

Directed by Vasan Bala, Monica, O My Darling, starring Rajkummar Rao, Huma Qureshi and Radhika Apte in lead roles, is streaming on Netflix.
