Two National Award-winning actors, Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta, will be seen on the big screen in the multi-starrer feature film Uunchai, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan.

Speaking to OTTplay ahead of the release of the film, Neena told us exclusively what a joy it is to work with Kher.

"Anupam is a buddy and we have worked extensively together. There is a different kind of understanding of timing and give-and-take that takes place between two actors whose wavelengths match. I have worked with Anupam in another film called Shiv Shastri Balboa, in which I play a Telugu house help in the USA. It is always fun to work with Anupam."

Recalling other projects in the past, Neena says that working with Kher on the play Mera Woh Matlab Nahi Tha made their friendship stronger.

"When you work on a play, thanks to rehearsals, you tend to spend a lot of time with the entire team. For Mera Woh Matlab Nahi Tha, we travelled around America for one-and-a-half months, because we had around 24 shows. We also had a world tour for the play. And working with Anupam was so easy… it always is!" said the actor.

It is interesting that both the veteran actors studied at the National School of Drama, and both worked in some award-winning films in the beginning of their careers.

Neena Gupta and Anupam Kher will be seen together in the upcoming film Uunchai, which is directed by Sooraj Barjatya. It also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sarika, Danny Denzongpa and Parineeti Chopra.

The story of the film revolves around three friends who are in their mid 60s. One day, they decide to climb to the base camp of Mount Everest, in memory of their late friend Bhupen.

The film is slated to release in theatres on November 11.
