Content creator-turned-actress Prajakta Koli plays a pivotal role in the upcoming teleplay, Yeh Shaadi Nahi Ho Sakti. She speaks with OTTPlay about the process of bringing the child of the 1990s to life through her performance.

Talking about revisiting the acting style of the 1990s, Prajakta said, "I think this teleplay came easily to me because I worked with a bunch of theatre actors who have a deep understanding of live performance. So, woh log sambhal lete the. Also, a director like Akarsh Khurana allows you to feel the character and become one with it. Since the play is set in the 90s, we had to follow a certain style of acting that we don't do now at all, because these days it's all about realistic acting."

The actress then added that only a director like Akarsh could extract such a performance from every actor. "I give full credit to Akarsh for bringing out the over-the-top performance and 90s style in all of us actors through his direction. He knew when to let go and when to control the madness in our performances. If it is not controlled, then it might look like a parody, which is not the intention. So, Akarsh allowed us to find the balance," shared Prajakta.

Yeh Shaadi Nahi Ho Sakti, directed by Akarsh Khurana, is a teleplay based on Shakespeare's classic comedy The Taming of the Shrew. It also features Shikha Talsania, Adhaar Khurana and Chaitnya Sharma.

The story of the play revolves around Priya and Lakshman, who want to get married to each other, but can't do so because Priya has an unmarried elder sister, Pallavi. Lakshman then makes an elaborate plan so that he and Priya can get married, but everything goes wrong, and the fun begins from there.

Yeh Shaadi Nahi Ho Sakti releases on Zee Theatre on February 19.
