Minnal Murali’s Tovino Thomas and Guru Somasundaram could reunite for Jude Anthany Joseph’s multi-starrer, which is based on the 2018 Kerala floods. The makers of the movie, which is set to go on floors by June first week, are finalising the casting and we hear that even Vineeth Sreenivasan too could join the cast.

The big-budget movie, which was first announced in 2019 as 2403ft, will have a new title and is slotted for release only in early 2023. Tovino, Asif Ali and Kunchacko Boban are confirmed for the movie. Indrajith Sukumaran, Jayasurya, Indrans and Manju Warrier were also part of the cast when the film was initially announced. Jayasurya told us that he is no longer part of the movie. It remains to be seen if the rest of the cast too have changed.

Meanwhile, a source close to the film’s production tells us that they are trying to onboard Guru Somasundaram, who has gotten busy in Malayalam after the success of Minnal Murali, as well as Vineeth Sreenivasan. The latter also has debutant Saheed Arafath’s crime drama Thankam, which has Biju Menon as another protagonist, set to begin soon and the makers of the Jude’s film are trying to work out his dates.

The movie will also have four heroines, a source had earlier confirmed to us. In 2019, Tovino, who plays a former soldier who had gone AWOL, had shot a few portions with Tanvi Ram. However, the movie was delayed due to the pandemic. Considering that it was a multi-starrer that required huge crowds and major portions to be shot in water, the team had kept the project on the backburner till the circumstances were favourable for the film’s shoot.

In the meantime, Jude had directed Anna Ben and Sunny Wayne-starrer Sara’s, which was a direct-to-OTT release on Amazon Prime Video.
