F1, the Brad Pitt-led sports drama is opening in theatres worldwide on June 27, 2025, but has been in the news ever since its premiere more than a week ago. Directed by Top Gun Maverick’s Joseph Kosinski, F1 also stars Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, Javier Bardem, among others, F1, as the name suggests is a story based on the Formula One World Championships. The film has received largely positive reviews from its premiere shows.

F1 to stream on Apple TV+

F1 is an Apple movie, so it’s post-theatrical streaming will be on Apple TV+, although there’s no word yet on when it will be available on the platform. Reports suggest that the best scenario is that F1 will make its way to Apple TV+ 3 months after the theatrical release, with a likely window between the last week of September and first week of October. This, of course, will be subject to the film’s theatrical performance.

The plot of F1 revolves around Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a once promising F1 talent, whose future in the sport tragically blows up after a severe crash. With an F1 career no longer on the line, Sonny retains a semblance of a motorsport affiliation racing at other smaller events, while also working as a cab driver. He then gets one shot at glory, when an old buddy offers him a spot on a team that is literally in the pits.

Three decades since his last stint inside the cockpit of an F1 car, does Sonny still have it in him to pull off a recovery for his team and himself, while also dealing with teammate Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris). The film was shot at real F1 Grand Prix circuits, with current Ferrari driver and 7-time F1 Drivers’ Champion Lewis Hamilton credited as one of the producers of the film.
