JioHotstar’s Fans Ka Faisla lets viewers pick between Shehbaz Badesha and YouTuber Mridul Tiwari to enter Bigg Boss 19. Voting ends Aug 21; winner revealed by Salman Khan at the Grand Premiere.

For the very first time in Bigg Boss history, viewers will get to choose who goes inside the house before the season ever starts. A new contest called Fans Ka Faisla has been added to JioHotstar (OTTplay Premium) as part of the democratic theme for this season. The initiative allows audiences to choose between two shortlisted contenders, turning them from passive viewers into active participants in shaping the show’s lineup.

Shehbaz Badesha, brother of the previous Bigg Boss contestant Shehnaaz Gill, and Mridul Tiwari, host of the 18 million+ subscriber humour channel The MriDul on YouTube, are among the contenders. Salman Khan, the show's host, will announce the winner—chosen entirely by viewers—during the Grand Premiere.
The voting period ends at 11:59 PM on August 21 and is open solely on the JioHotstar app. Using what the makers call a "never-seen-before-entry", the player with the highest votes will be the first to enter the house, immediately changing the game's dynamics.
Shehbaz Badesha, who has made guest appearances on the show before, remarked, "Last time I came in for a short spin, bas ek chhota sa jhalak dikhaya tha, but this time, main pura season ka tadka ban ke jaaunga. I’ve been part of Bigg Boss before, but always from the sidelines—either cheering for my sister Shehnaz or visiting as a guest."
He added that this time is different; the adventure may belong to him. Shehbaz shared that he is not only a "celebrity sibling," but he is also someone who has been disregarded and undervalued. His energy is unfiltered, unpredictable, and proudly Punjabi. Shehbaz revealed that he is not trying to avoid conflict or be the perfect friend to everyone. He aims to create a stir and ignite a conversation. He added that the most thrilling part is that the audience decides if he enters. As entertaining as Shehnaz's season was, he swears this one will be much better.
Mridul Tiwari, who wishes to make his Bigg Boss debut, said, "Bigg Boss isn’t just a show—it’s a proving ground and I have been ready for this fight for years. I am ready to bring my wit, my game, and an unfiltered version of who I am. I am not someone who blends into the background; rather, I believe in taking a stand, facing challenges head-on, and competing with power. No hiding, no sugar-coating—just real competition."
He said that he has faith in the audience's ability to discern genuineness when they see it, and he lets them determine who should remain. Tiwari concluded by saying that they can win this together as a fan-powered brotherhood, and he is prepared to give it his best.
