The 2025 Malayalam film Feminichi Fathima, starring actress Shamla Hamza in the titular role, has begun streaming after winning much accolades, including Kerala State Film awards. Helmed by debutant director Fasil Muhammed, the film has made its much-awaited OTT release on Manorama Max.

Feminichi Fathima, which released in theatres on October 10 this year, along with Senna Hegde’s Avihitham, made its OTT release on Manorama Max on December 12, 2025. The Malayalam film is now available for streaming with English subtitles. Like other titles on the platform, it is only available in the Malayalam language.

Actress Shamla Hamza leads Feminichi Fathima as the titular housewife, whose only focus in life has been to keep the household running and taking care of her family members. But when she raises an essential request, there is hardly anyone who is supporting her. Her subtle yet moving performance in the film won her the Best Actress Award at the Kerala State Film Award that were declared last month. It is significant achievement for the actress as Feminichi Fathima marks only her second film after 1001 Nunakal. Kumar Sunil plays Fathima’s husband Usthad, along with Babitha Basheer, Raji R, Praseetha, Viji Viswanath, and Kumar Sunil.

The thought-provoking film was helmed by Fasil Muhammed, who was also honoured with the Best Debut Director Award by the Kerala government. Set in Ponnani in Kerala’s Malappuram district, the film also weaves in the local elements and dialect, giving it the charm of small-town tales.

Despite being a film hailed by critics, Feminichi Fathima was not able to attract many filmgoers during its theatrical run in October. The film is presented by Kaantha actor Dulquer Salmaan, who had also earlier backed Kalyani Priyardarshan-led Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra (streaming on JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium).

Other recent Malayalam releases include Pranav Mohanlal’s horror thriller Dies Irae and Sharaf U Dheen’s comedy film The Pet Detective that are also available on OTTplay Premium.
