Finch: Tom Hanks-starrer gets a premiere date from Apple TV

Tom Hanks’ new sci-fi film, Finch will premiere on Apple TV + on November 5. The announcement was made by Apple and they also released a first look poster of the movie that features Tom Hanks alongside a robot inside a house.

The film is touted to be a sci-fi film that takes place after Earth is hit by a cataclysmic solar event. Hanks plays the titular character, a robotics engineer who lives with a robot and his dog. Finch builds the robot as he lives underground after the solar event. Finch will follow Hanks’ character and his companions as they set out on a journey to the outside world, which has now changed.

Co-written by Ivor Powell and Craig Luck, the former has previously worked as an associate producer for sci-fi films Alien and Blade Runner. The sci-fi adventure is directed by Miguel Sapochnik, who is known for helming episodes from the hit TV series Game of Thrones.

The movie will also feature Caleb Landry Jones, Samira Wiley, Laura Harrier and Skeet Ulrich along with the Oscar-winning actor.

Finch is another release from Apple that is on the lines with the likes of Sundance prize winner CODA Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon starring Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio, Joel Coen’s Tragedy of Macbeth starring Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand and Antoine Fuqua’s Emancipation starring Will Smith.
