Friendly Rivalry Twitter reaction: Netizens find GL in K-Drama, cannot stop drooling over first kiss and upcoming uniform scene
Friendly Rivalry

Friendly Rivalry is now out, and even if at the face of it, the show is a K-Drama, netizens have noticed strong signs of GL (girl love). They are here for the chemistry shared between Lee Hye-ri's Jaeyi and Jung Soo-bin's Seulgi. Of course, there's a lot more at play, but the netizens are digging the chemistry the girls share, including their first kiss. They also are not able to shut up about the upcoming uniform scene.

The first kiss

Friendly Rivalry has a lot of moments where Jaegi (Lee Hyeri) takes charge. She is possessive about Seulgi in terms of body language and netizens are absolutely digging the idea of GL in the K-Drama (more so because all of Korea has a homophobic culture even now). The first kiss, in particular, is really special because, well, they are each other's first kiss ever in the series.

The uniform scene

Another scene that has caught viewers' attention in Friendly Rivalry is the uniform scene. Let us elaborate on it. Jaegi took Seulgi's uniform size by giving her a back hug while she was not fully clothed. This is the moment that netizens are digging, but the upcoming uniform scene has caught their interest more. It is where Jaegi unbuttons Seulgi's uniform, and she lets her. This has been giving netizens more GL vibes, but some are still sure that the K-Drama is much more than what meets the eye and like the title suggests, it is a revenge-drama. And they might not be wrong, since there are scenes where Jaegi purposely makes sure Seulgi knows her place. So, there appear to be signs of a deeper hidden agenda behind the 'friendly' moments.
