Gaalipata 2: Meet the Golden Star Ganesh is his trademark 'Gani' avatar in new character teaser

While Gaalipata, the 2008 film, saw the motley trio venture out on the Malenadu hills in search of love and excitement, Ganesh and Co. seem to be busy with their vibrant college life in Gaalipata 2.

Golden Star Ganesh’s reunion with his Mungaru Male and Gaalipata director Yogaraj Bhat is surely one of the most exciting things to happen in 2022 for all the Kannada cinema fans. With Diganth Manchale, Pawan Kumar, and many other usual suspects joining them in this comic cause called Gaalipata 2 the prospects of a bona fide entertainer look very promising. Now, as the entire team gears up for a grand theatrical release on August 12, here’s a special teaser of Ganesh’s character in the film.

Golden Star Ganesh is back in his trademark ‘Gani’ avatar for this film, dishing out punchlines and tear-jerky moments in equal measure, and thanks to the very apparent camaraderie between him, Diganth, and Pawan Kumar that the previous film doesn’t seem almost 15 years old! The teaser also gives a proper glimpse of Yogaraj Bhat’s impeccable wordplay, the comic chops of the likes of Rangayana Raghu and others, and a love story that will tug at your heartstrings.

Golden Star Ganesh is paired with Vaibhavi Shandilya in Gaalipata 2 with the latter making her Kannada debut. Sharmiela Mandre and Pawan Kumar will be seen as the second on-screen pair of the film with Samyuktha Menon too part of the large cast which also includes Anant Nag, Sudha Belawadi, and others. The trailer of Gaalipata 2 will be out on July 31.

Arjun Janya comes onboard as the music composer and the team has already released four singles from the soundtrack. The first one, titled Exam Song, has been sung by Vijay Prakash with Yogaraj Bhat writing the lyrics: the same duo has also rendered the Devle Devle Devle song. The other two tracks from the album are Naanaadadaa Maathellava and Neenu Bagehariyada: the former marks the return of the iconic Golden Star Ganesh, Sonu Nigam, and Jayant Kaikini combination.
