Gandhada Gudi box office collection: Puneeth Rajkumar's film does it again! Outdoes Kantara on Rajyotsava

Thanks to the great opening weekend performance, which yielded as many as Rs. 13.65 crores, Amoghavarsha's film is now a bona fide hit at the box office.

The season of the big screen is back in Sandalwood as the industry delivers yet another box office success in Gandhada Gudi. The documentary film released in theatres on the eve of Puneeth Rajkumar's first death anniversary and has been putting on a great show ever since. Fans have thronged cinema halls to experience what has been described as an emotional ride and the same response is now translating to box office numbers.

Yes, according to the latest trade reports, Gandhada Gudi managed to collect more than Rs. 4.25 crores on the Day 5 of its theatrical run. Leveraging the Kannada Rajyotsava holiday, the documentary film became the clear winner at the local box office and even outperformed Kantara in its pursuits. Kantara Kannada, as per the same reports, has collected a little over Rs. 3.0 crores (net) on Tuesday, November 1.

The Rs. 20 crores mark is within arm's reach for Gandhada Gudi and current estimates show that the film will achieve the target on Day #6 (Wednesday). Thanks to the great opening weekend performance, which yielded as many as Rs. 13.65 crores, Amoghavarsha's film is now a bona fide hit at the box office.

Directed by Amoghavarsha, who also features in the film along with Puneeth Rajkumar, Gandhada Gudi is a non-fiction docudrama that traverses the rich natural heritage of the state of Karnataka. Seen essentially through the eyes of Puneeth Rajkumar and Amoghavarsha as they go about exploring the many vibrant territories of the region, Gandhada Gudi has been hailed as a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience by the fans. Many have deemed the film to be a perfect send-off to Puneeth Rajkumar who tragically passed away on October 29, 2021.
