Golden Star Ganesh, Rukmini Vasanth starrer 'Baanadariyalli' to release on THIS date

The film, written and directed by Preetham Gubbi based on a story by Preetha Jayaraman, also stars Reeshma Nanaiah, Rangayana Raghu, and others.

Ganesh is set to begin his 2023 with the genre that his fans love the most: romance drama. The actor's much-awaited reunion project with director Preetham Gubbi, Baanadariyalli will make its way into theatres on March 17th of this year.

Baanadariyalli also stars Rukmini Vasanth and Reeshma Nanaiah in the lead roles and both actors will be seen playing characters in the film. Rukmini, who is expected to have an eventful 2023 with Sapta Sagaradaache Ello, Bagheera and other projects, plays a professional swimmer Leela in the film who also has a penchant for surfing. The actress underwent training to fit into the role and was drawn to the sport of surfing so much that she professed her love for it through a social media post. Ganesh, too, will be seen surfing in the film.

Reeshma Nanaiah, on the other hand, will be seen playing a wildlife photographer named Kadambari in Baanadairyalli. Her portions were extensively shot in the famous locales of Kenya and Preetham Gubbi tells OTTplay that more than an hour of the film is set in Kenya, making it a one-of-a-kind film for both Ganesh and his fans. The team is said to have shot across locations in Karnataka along with Chennai, Varanasi, and other places. All the surfing portions featuring Rukmini were shot in Mangaluru.

Coming to Ganesh, the Golden Star will be seen as a cricketer in the film. While Gubbi describes his film as "not a love story, but a story about love", fans have been curious to know more about the film's storyline. Well-known cinematographer Preetha Jayaraman has been credited as the film's story writer with Gubbi converting that into a screenplay. Abhilash Kalathi is the film's cinematographer, with Deepu S. Kumar serving as the editor.
