In an interview with Mid-Day, Akanksha revealed that a particular casting director dismissed her as an actor suited for the role in Gram Chikitsalay. Akansha Ranjan Kapoor has been a part of various OTT projects so far. She did not step into theatrical films as of yet. The actress was seen in Kiara Advani's Guilty, Ali Fazal (Forbidden Love actor)-starrer Ray and Rajkummar Rao (Aligarh Bose: Dead or Alive)'s Monica, O My Darling.
Gram Chikitsalay comes from the makers of Panchayat and has been compared to the series too often. The show is about a doctor's struggle to survive in a village that works on its own rules. He cannot even enter his own office because of a farm that stands between the road and the office. Once he does find a solution to that, he struggles to find a patient. Once he finds a patient, a lot is at stake. The series ends on a cliffhanger, with the doctor (played by Tripling-famed actor Amol Parashar) about to treat his patient. This has left fans hopeful for the second season, where they would get to explore what really happened in his journey ahead.
