Another gritty thriller by director Hansal Mehta, based on the actual terrorist attack that devastated a Dhaka cafe in 2016, is coming up. The Zahaan Kapoor and Aditya Rawal starrer will have its theatrical release on February 3rd, 2023 after receiving a thunderous reception at its global premiere at the BFI London Film Festival in 2022.

Sharing the release date with a poster on his social media, Hansal Mehta wrote, "Because standing up against bigotry is the only way to defeat it. A story of our polarised times #Faraaz. Releasing on February 3 at a Cinema near you.

#FaraazInCinemasonFeb3."

Producer Anubhav Sinha reveals that Faraaz is a story that deserves to be told, and Hansal has done justice to the story of the horrific tragedy that startled the world. It tells the story of a brave warrior who stood up for his loved ones, and it honours the spirit of that young youngster.

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta said, “To me, Faraaz is a story of our polarised times. Through the one event that rocked Dhaka — the 2016 attack on the Holey Artisan cafe — I’ve tried to explore the broader theme of violence and what really drives young, vulnerable minds towards it. Designed as a nail biting thriller that plays out over one tense night, my attempt with Faraaz has also been to shine a light on the immense courage and humanity that it takes to stand up against violence. Because standing up against bigotry and the carnage it triggers is the only way to defeat it.”

When the film had its international premiere at the London Film Festival, Bhushan Kumar said that the response had been tremendously positive. He went on to say that they  are thrilled to share with the world this young boy's hitherto unheard story. The movie "Faraaz" will undoubtedly touch a chord in your heart because its core themes are bravery, camaraderie, and humanity. "I am glad to be associated with such an important film," he said.

Hansal Mehta is the director, and Bhushan Kumar, Anubhav Sinha, Sahil Saigal, Sakshi Bhatt, and Mazahir M are the producers. The film is jointly produced by T-Series and Benaras Media works in association with Mahana Films. In addition to Reshham Sahaani, the cast also includes Zahaan Kapoor, Aditya Rawal, Juhi Babbar, Aamir Ali, Sachin Lalwani, and Palak Lalwani.
