What is Scam 2010 all about?

Scam 2010 is the story of Subrata Roy’s rise and fall. The season is officially titled Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga. Hansal Mehta returns as the director for season 3 after his successful outing with Pratik Gandhi through Scam 1992: The Hansal Mehta Story. The second installment, helmed by Tushar Hiranandani, was Scam 2003: The Telgi Story. It told the tale of Abdul Karim Telgi.

The third season, Scam 2010: The Subrata Roy Saga, is inspired from Tamal Bandyopadhyay’s 2014 book Sahara: The Untold Story. The new season will follow the formation of the extensive empire and the protracted legal struggles that ensued. As is characteristic of the franchise’s earlier seasons, the series will explore the dichotomies in Roy’s public image while delving into the intricacies of markets, governance, and accountability in contemporary Indian finance.

Hansal Mehta’s other OTT outings

Apart from Scam 2010, Hansal Mehta, last remembered for Kareena Kapoor Khan’s The Buckingham Murders, is prepped for another OTT outing. His next will be Family Business with Anil Kapoor and Vijay Varma in the lead roles. It is an upcoming Netflix series that is a financial drama. He is also working on the biographical series Gandhi – based on influential political figure Mahatma Gandhi starring Pratik Gandhi in the lead role.

On the movie front (uncertain whether OTT or theatrical release), Hansal Mehta will be working on Porbandar. The feature film is expected to go on floors in the second half of 2026.
