Happy birthday Vijay Sethupathi: Ace makers release new glimpse introducing the actor as Bold Kannan

Directed by Aarumugakumar, Ace features Rukmini Vasanth in her Tamil debut. With music by Justin Prabhakaran and cinematography by Karan B Rawat, the film is produced by 7Cs Entertainment.

We had earlier reported that Vijay Sethupathi will be starring in an upcoming Tamil film titled Ace. While there were no recent updates on the film, for the occasion of the actor’s birthday on Thursday, January 16, the makers of Ace released a special birthday glimpse, introducing his character.

Ace special glimpse is out

Vijay Sethupathi, who was last seen in Vetrimaaran’s Viduthalai: Part 2, is celebrating his birthday on January 16 (Thursday). While he is a part of various projects, one of them is the Tamil film, Ace. A special birthday glimpse was released on social media.

The glimpse begins with Vijay walking into the airport. Clad in a shirt and dhoti, he is seen wearing yellow glasses, as we see intercuts of action sequences, him on a scooter, and where he is partying. His character is introduced as Bold Kannan in the last frame.

The upcoming film is helmed by Aarumugakumar in his sophomore directorial. He has earlier made the 2018 Tamil film Oru Nalla Naal Paathu Solren, starring Vijay Sethupathi, Gautam Karthik, Gayathrie and others. With the shooting for Ace already wrapped up, the film will feature Kannada actor Rukmini Vasanth as the female lead. The actor will be making her Tamil debut with Ace and Sivakarthikeyan’s SK 23. Ace is bankrolled by 7Cs Entertainment, which had earlier produced the Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Laabam.

Justin Prabhakaran has scored the music for Ace, with Karan B Rawat as cinematographer. Fenny Oliver is the editor. Yogi Babu, Divya Pillai, Babloo Prithveeraj, BS Avinash, Muthu Kumar, Raj Kumar, Denes Kumar, and others are also part of the film.

Vijay Sethupathi was last seen in Vetrimaaran's directorial Viduthalai- Part 2. The film is a period action drama, co-starring Soori, Manju Warrier, Rajiv Menon, and others. The post-theatrical streaming rights of the film have been bagged by ZEE5 and will be available on OTTplay Premium as well.
