While reports have already said the production on the show begins in summer this year, and the makers have confirmed being in advanced stages of development, there are no updates on who the cast members will be. While we have heard a couple of names, there is now one new name being added to the speculated list, and it is that of Fleabag and Killing Eve fame Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge Eyed for Harry Potter Series?

Paapa Essiedu (Gangs of London) is reportedly in talks to play Severus Snape, with Mark Strong (Green Lantern) and Mark Rylance (Ready Player One) among those eyed for Albus Dumbledore. Sharon Horgan (Bad Sisters) and Rachel Weisz (Black Widow) could be on the cable network's radar for Minerva McGonagall, with Brett Goldstein (Thor: Love and Thunder) looking likely for Hagrid, as per Comic Book Movie. Now a new name joins them, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge being rumored to play a very interesting character.

Daniel Richtman, the vital scooper, in his new scoop has said the makers have approached Phoebe Waller-Bridge to star in the H arry Potter TV series. It is said that she has been offered the role of Petunia Dursley, Harry Potter's hateful aunt. Interestingly, it is a character that is hardly seen in the Harry Potter films but is pretty pivotal in the books. This means the show will explore her side, and if they want an actor of Phoebe’s stature and talent to play her, there must be massive plans for her already in place.
