Harry Styles' Spitgate: Chris Pine's representative gives an explosive statement
Chris Pine and harry Styles share a bond made of 'respect', clarified Pine's rep

On Monday, Harry Styles was widely discussed the world over for him allegedly spitting over Chris Pine at the Venice Film Festival 2022 where their already-drowning-in-controversy film Don't Worry Darling was premiered.

In a viral footage that was watched over 15 millions before being taken down by Twitter, Don’t Worry Darling actor Harry Styles can *allegedly* be seen spitting on his co-star Chris Pine while occupying a seat beside Pine, while director Olivia Wilde sat on the other side of the chair.

The video in question, which has been viewed for over 10 million times, reportedly saw Harry Styles drop a little spit on Chris Pine’s lap at the Venice Film Festival premiere Monday. A graceful Pine, however, smiled at this allegedly outrageous behaviour that the former One Direction-er exhibited in Pine.

What made it all the more difficult to move over the incident is Pine’s reaction, who stopped mid-clap and stared at his lap first and then smiled and laughed and nodded.

Now, Chris Pine's representative has come forward and given an explosive statement to Variety. Calling it a 'ridiculous story' and clarifying Harry Styles 'did not' spit on Chris Pine, the rep said, "This is a ridiculous story -- a complete fabrication and the result of an odd online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for foolish speculation. Just to be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine."

He said the co-stars share a relationship of mutual 'respect'.

"There is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist," explained the rep.

Produced by Warner Bros. and directed by Olivia Wilde, Don't Worry Darling is releasing in theaters on September 23, 2022.
