Here is what Rachna Banerjee has to say about taking tips from Mimi and Nusrat

Mimi Chakraborty and Nusrat Jahan contested from the TMC in the 2019 election. Mimi and Nusrat became the MPs from Jadavpur and Basirhat respectively. However, the ruling party of West Bengal TMC did not give them tickets this time. Mimi announced her retirement from politics earlier this year though.
This time, Rachna Banerjee was the TMC’s surprise celebrity candidate from Hooghly constituency. The actress who hosts Didi Number 1 on Zee Bangla (streams on Zee5 and you can also watch it on OTTplay Premium) has already started her campaign. Did she take any tips from Mimi and Nusrat?
In an interview with TV9, Rachna said that she never thought of taking tips from Mimi or Nusrat. “Things happened so quickly that I promptly decided. I have known Mamatadi since before 2011. I just joined politics but we have long acquaintances. She wanted me to be by her side, and that is everything.” That is why Rachna did not need to take tips from the younger generation.
Rachna said that if she met Mimi and Nusrat she would ask them why they were not by Didi’s side. However, she said that their thinking might not match. “I never thought that I would decide according to their words about whether I would join politics or not,” she said.
Rachna, however, gave importance to another star MP, Satabdi Roy. Satabdi has been the MP from Birbhum since 2009 and has done a hat trick of wins. Rachna said she was more keen to take tips from Satabdi.
Rachna went to the Basanta Utsav in Begumpur Hattala of Singur in March. She said, “If I win from here, I would ask Zee Bangla authority to give the Hooghly district’s didis (sisters) the highest priority. I would ask them to call the didis from Hooghly before anyone else, those who elected me by casting their votes if the channel wants to keep me in Didi No 1.” Rachna’s comment became viral. Opponent candidate Locket Chatterjee attacked Rachna for this comment.
