Small-screen host, anchor Suma Kanakala's comeback film Jayamma Panchayathi is set to storm the screens across Telugu states in the coming week. The film marks the directorial debut of Vijay Kumar Kalivarapu, who has also penned the story, screenplay and dialogues. The rural drama is bankrolled by Balaga Prakash under Vennela Krishna and has music by MM Keeravaani. The cast also includes two newcomers Dinesh Kumar and Shalini, who hope to make a mark with the project. Dinesh and Shalini engaged in an interaction with the media recently.

Dinesh Kumar shared, "I am based out of Palakonda in Srikakulam, the same village as the director Vijay. The director auditioned me through a casting call and we bonded well during the making. I play a priest in the film who falls in love with a girl Anitha and we face a conflict. How is this related to Jayamma? That's the crux of the film. After 8 years of constant struggle, I feel lucky to be debuting with Suma garu's film and sharing screen space with her. I worked as a motherboard designer after my engineering but always wanted to become an actor."

He was part of the publicity tour with Anitha, Suma across Telugu states as well recently. "I am a God-fearing man and pray at the Durga temple in our village regularly. I feel fortunate to have bagged a role that's so close to my personality and shooting on the temple premises for the film too. I hope to impress audiences with my performance in Jayamma Panchayathi," Dinesh further added.

Shalini, whose parents hail from Mogalturu and Hyderabad, is very much a city-bred girl, with experience in short films and advertisements. "During the pandemic, in the middle of a break, a writer from Jayamma Panchayathi approached me to play a role titled Indu. The director selected me after an audition. I am cast in a part that's very different from my real life. Audiences will definitely like it. I didn't have to speak the Srikakulam slang in the film because I play a girl who comes from another region and settles in the village," she said. The film was shot across picturesque locations in Palakonda, Kotipalli, andAmudalavalasa. Jayamma Panchayathi releases on May 6.
