Why are fans trolling Hrithik Roshan for his O'Romeo review?

Taking to his X account, Hrithik Roshan shared his O'Romeo review where he wrote, "The quirkiness of #ORomeo eventually wins you over. I had fun. @shahidkapoor you do this genre BEST. Too good you are. Go watch it in the theatres guys. Also that running in circles action was brilliant."

Reminding Hrithik of his Dhurandhar review, one fan said, "I hope you are not praising this just because of paid promotion… especially since you hated Dharundhar, which was actually a masterclass.."

Another said, "So you liked this pathetic movie but hated the dhurandhar." "Sir, How about the politics ? Wasn't there any or was it too subtle to recognise ?," read another comment. Another comment read, "Don't you see any politics in it as you saw in #Dhurandhar ??"

What was Hrithik Roshan's review for Dhurandhar?

Hrithik Roshan gave a mixed review of the 2025 spy thriller Dhurandhar, praising Aditya Dhar's filmmaking and the acting performances, particularly from Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna, while openly disagreeing with the film's politics. He labelled it "absolute cinema" but expressed ideological differences regarding its, at times, controversial political stance.

“I may disagree with the politics of it, and argue about the responsibilities us filmmakers should bear as citizens of the world. Nevertheless, can't ignore how l loved and learnt from this one as a student of cinema. Amazing," he wrote.

About O'Romeo

O'Romeo is a 1990s-set Mumbai underworld action-drama inspired by Hussain Zaidi's Mafia Queens of Mumbai.
