Imbam OTT release date: When and where to watch Deepak Parambol's 2023 film online

Malayalam film, Imbam, is finally making its way online. The heartfelt drama, starring Lalu Alex and Deepak Parambol in pivotal roles, will be streaming on Sun NXT and OTTplay Premium from this week.

Imbam OTT release date

The movie is having its OTT release two years after its theatrical debut. Imbam received mixed reviews from theatregoers, although it was hailed for its poignant story and performances. On October 17, the movie will be available for streaming on both platforms starting at 12 am. On the same day, ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium will also premiere Asif Ali's most recent film, Aabhyanthara Kuttavaali.

Sarkeet, Deepak Parambol's latest film, was made available on Manorama Max last month. Following its online premiere, viewers responded favourably to this feel-good drama as well. His another film, Mirage, will be available on Sony LIV and OTTplay Premium from October 20.

Imbam plot and other details

Set in Kozhikode, the narrative examines the challenges faced by a set of students at an arts college there. Karunakaran, the head editor of "Shabdham" and a friend of this college's principal, finds his life unexpectedly intertwined with several others. Among them is a young cartoonist named Nidhi who bumps into Karunakaran.

Financial issues lead to conflict between Karunakaran and Premarajan, the president of a political party. Nidhin and his relationships with Shabdam, Karunakaran, and Kathambari—a female proofreader who works at the same publication—are then the main subjects of the movie. Amidst this context, the narrative unfolds, poignantly exploring themes of romance and companionship. 

In Imbam, Meera Vasudevan, Darsana S Nair, Irshad Ali, Lal Jose, and Divya M Nair all have significant roles. Sreejith Chandran wrote the screenplay as well as directed the movie. The film's soundtracks were composed by P S Jayhari.
