Filmmaker Jis Joy is a director who enjoys making feel-good movies to entertain the Malayali audience. The director is now making a thriller and has opened up about the challenges of making it.

Talking to ETimes, he said that in all his past projects, he had a climax in mind and had to travel towards it. However, he says he only had a call he got from Kunchacko Boban and a sort of backstory, so he decided to give it.

“Later, writers Bobby and Sanjay gave a framework till the prelude, and later we were all in pitch-black. It took us about 3 months to write the final 10 scenes of the climax. Making a thriller film is no cakewalk," he said.

He added that the project is challenging for someone attempting a new genre and that he does not want to disappoint the audience who are coming to the cinemas after seeing the star cast.

The director also pointed out that even though this is the first time he is making a thriller, he has always been a fan of thrillers such as Trapped, Ratsasan, Pariyerum Perumal Drishyam, and Anjaam Pathiraa.

Talking to OTTPlay in an exclusive, Jis, who had last helmed Kunchacko Boban’s Mohan Kumar Fans said, “Innale Vare is a thriller with no songs. The post-production of the film is complete, and the plan right now is to release it on OTTs next month.”

The movie, which stars Asif Ali, Nimisha Sajayan, Anthony Varghese Pepe, and Reba Monica John, is going straight to OTT, confirmed the director.
