An overwhelmed Vikram Prabhu said that he feels like he has achieved something considering the reception to the film. Speaking at the film's success meet, he said, "As an audience, I always think that a film should entertain or connect with me. Every film is different from each other. When I heard the script of Irugapatru, I was quite moved, and so was while working on the film. I have never done a film like this. I was wondering how it did not work out until now? I feel like I am doing something right."
He added that he gave his best to the film. "I have put in the same amount of effort in every film of mine. While some work, some do not. People have appreciated the little things about the film. I am happy that it was well received and I have a feeling that I have achieved something. When I was watching the film in theatres, I could relate to all the characters. That's the power of the script."
