It's finally official! Sivakarthikeyan's last romantic comedy Prince is all set to drop on Disney + Hotstar on November 25. The digital platform confirmed the news on its official social media handle, "Bimbilikki Pilapi #Prince streaming on #Disneyplushotstar from 25th November @Siva_Kartikeyan @anudeepfilm @maria_ryab @SureshProdns @SVCLLP @ShanthiTalkies @manojdft @Cinemainmygenes #Sathyaraj @Premgiamaren @adityamusic @AdityaTamil_ @SBDaggubati #NarayandasNarang (sic)." Until now, speculations were rife about the digital premiere date of the film.

Prince marks the maiden collaboration of Sivakarthikeyan with director Anudeep KV, who had earlier helmed Jathi Ratnalu. This is his sophomore film. Prince stars Ukraine model and actress Maria Ryaboshapka as the leading lady, and marks her debut in the Tamil film industry. The star cast also includes Sathyaraj, Premgi Amaren, VTV Ganesh and Subbu Panchu, and Soori and Anandraj in cameo appearances.

Thaman has scored the music for the film and Prince also marks his maiden collaboration with the actor. While the cinematography is by Manoj Paramahamsa, editing is by Praveen KL. The plot revolves around a teacher played by Sivakarthikeyan, who falls in love with a foreigner. The film has been predominantly shot in Puducherry. Prince hit screens as a Diwali release and clashed with PS Mithran's spy thriller, Sardar, which had Karthi in the lead.

Interestingly, Prince marked Sivakarthikeyan's first ever Diwali release. The film was jointly bankrolled by Suniel Narang, D Suresh Babu and Pushkar Ram Mohan Rao. Prince, however, opened to negative reviews and didn't set the cash registers ringing.

Sivakarthikeyan's previous releases were Don and Doctor, both of which did well at the box office. While Doctor was helmed by Nelson Dilipkumar and had Priyanka Arul Mohan as the leading lady, the lead pair once again came together for Cibi Chakaravarthi's maiden venture Don. In the meantime, Sivakarthikeyan is currently working on his next Maveeran, which has him teaming up with National Award-winning director Madonne Ashwin.
