Before Malayalam superstar Mohanlal immerses himself totally into Lijo Jose Pellissery’s big budget film Malaikottai Vaaliban, the actor will complete his portions for Rajinikanth’s Jailer, according to reports.

Mohanlal is currently in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, where Malaikottai Vaaliban is being shot. But we also hear that the team of Jailer is also in Jaisalmer and the superstar will complete his pending work in Nelson Dilipkumar’s movie. The actor had shot for two days with Rajinikanth in Chennai in January, and his portions in Jaisalmer are said to not feature Thalaivar but the other actors from the cast.

Mohanlal’s role in the Tamil action-comedy, which also has Tamannaah, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff and Vinayakan, is expected to be an extended cameo. The film will also mark Mohanlal’s comeback to Tamil after nine years. His previous Kollywood venture was Jilla, in which he played the lead alongside Vijay.

Meanwhile, Malaikottai Vaaliban, which will have the actor essay the role of a wrestler, will reportedly have him undergoing a makeover. The superstar has already been training to get in shape for the movie, which will also have a period setting. There are also reports that after discussions with Kamal Haasan to play a major role in the movie fell through, the makers are planning to approach Rajinikanth to essay the same character.

Earlier, Kantara filmmaker and actor Rishab Shetty had confirmed to OTTplay that he was approachd by the makers of Malaikottai Vaaliban for a role, but he had to turn it down as he was focused on making a Kannada movie.

Kannada actor and comedian Danish Sait will be making his Malayalam debut with the film, which is scripted by PS Rafeeque and has composer Prashanth Pillai and cinematographer Madhu Neelakandan as part of its crew. The movie also stars Marathi actress Sonalee Kulkarni, Hariprashanth and Hareesh Peradi.
