Superstar Rajinikanth has begun shooting for his next, Jailer, in Chennai. The film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is said to be an action-packed entertainer where Rajinikanth is likely to play the jailer. Now, a new picture from the shooting spot has surfaced on the internet in which the Superstar is seen along with a child.

While Rajinikanth is seen writing something on a notepad, the child is looking on with utmost eagerness. Later, Rajinikanth is also seen posing with a child. The pictures have been doing the rounds on the internet and have already become a hit among fans. This is Rajinikanth's 169th film and is also being referred to as Thalaivar169.
The film has an ensemble star cast that includes Tamannaah, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, and Kannada star Shivarajkumar in important roles. Ramya Krishnan and Rajinikanth are coming together after a long time. The last time they were seen together on screen was in Padayappa (1999). Later, Ramya Krishnan appeared in a  cameo appearance as her popular character Neelambari in Rajinikanth's Baba.

The makers had recently surprised fans of the Superstar with the release of the announcement theme music. This piqued the curiosity among fans of the actor. The title announcement poster, released earlier, had a blood-soaked meat cleaver hanging from a chain in a dilapidated building. Music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander, who had earlier composed music for Rajinikanth's Petta and Darbar. Jailer is said to be an action drama and this is the maiden collaboration between Nelson Dilipkumar, Rajinikanth and Tamannaaah. The film is bankrolled by Sun Pictures and is likely to hit screens for next year for the summer.

Rajinikanth's last release was Siruthai Siva's Annaththe, which received mixed reviews from the box office. Nelson Dilipkumar's last release Beast, too, received mixed reviews at the box office.
