Janhvi Kapoor on doing a film with Arjun Kapoor: We’ll have to call it ‘nepotism’

Janhvi Kapoor’s connection to the film industry is one which started even before the actress made her first stint on the silver screen. The daughter of Sidevi and Boney Kapoor, Janhvi seems to have taken to the acting industry like a fish to water, along with her sibling Arjun Kapoor as well. Janhvi recently opened up about the prospect of working with her half brother Arjun, and how she has had the word ‘nepotism’ thrown her way on more than one occasion.

In conversation with Pinkvilla, the actress said she really wanted to do a film with Arjun. Janhvi spoke of how her whole family was keeping busy at the time, so were not able to spend enough time together. She revealed that the most time she seemed to have spent with her father was during the shoot of her upcoming film Mili, and that was because it was a project the both were creatively involved together in. Mili was produced by Boney and marked the father-daughter duo’s first collaboration together.

The actress joked that the only way her entire family could get time together would be to do a film. "Maybe we'll have to call it nepotism only because it's all in the family”, she added.

Janhvi also opened up about how some people had criticised her in the name of nepotism. The actress added that she felt very protective of her sister Khushi and cousin Shanaya. Both Khushi and Shanaya too are gearing up for their Bollywood debuts soon. The former will be seen in Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix film The Archies, while Shanaya will star in Bedhadak.

Interestingly both Janhvi and Arjun’s upcoming films, Good Luck Jerry and Ek Villain Returns, are releasing on July 29. The actress’ film will be a direct to OTT release on Disney+Hotstar.
