Denis Villeneuve’s Dune has been one of the most anticipated movies of the year and has finally been released for the fans to see. Jason Momoa, who is one of the hottest properties in Hollywood right now, is also part of the film’s ensemble cast.

The Aquaman star shared the interesting story of how he was approached by Villeneuve for his role in the sci-fi epic.

In a recent interview with IndieWire, Momoa shares, “I got a call from my agent literally on top of a mountain, and I was shocked, and he was like, ‘Denis Villeneuve wants to talk to you right now.”

The actor says he thought that this was a prank because his agent said the director wanted him for a role and would not tell anyone what it was for.

Momoa then ran down the mountain and video called the director, who had the whole department there in costumes. The actor reveals that everyone was staring at him and that Villeneuve had everything ready and was like he was pitching the movie to him.

He recalls that the director then asked if he could play Duncan in the movie.

Momoa, who became popular after his role as the menacing Khan Drogo in Game of Thrones cemented his popularity following it with Arthur Curry/Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe.

The actor is currently shooting for the sequel to Aquaman which is titled Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
