Television anchor, host Suma Kanakala is in the middle of a whirlwind promotional tour for Jayamma Panchayathi, her big-screen comeback after nearly two decades. While the promotional tour of the rural drama had commenced in Warangal, Suma along with the team had later interacted with the media and visited prominent locations in Vijayawada and Kakinada later too. The film has story, screenplay, dialogues and direction by first-time filmmaker Vijay Kumar Kalivarapu. It is produced by Balaga Prakash under Vennela Creations.

The team is putting its best foot forward to promote the film across nooks and corners of the Telugu states. The film's pre-release event will be held at Daspalla Convention, Hyderabad today. Two celebrity guests are set to make their presence felt at the event - 'Natural Star' Nani and 'King' Nagarjuna. It's indeed a terrific gesture by these two leading stars to promote the small budgeted film like Jayamma Panchayathi, whose lead actor has hosted has a bulk of promotional events in the actors' career.

Nani has earlier also launched the film's first single, Thippagalana, a few months ago. Some of the other stars who have promoted the film include Ram Charan, Nani, Rana Daggubati, Pawan Kalyan and SS Rajamouli. For the uninitiated, MM Keeravaani has composed the music for Jayamma Panchayathi - four singles from the album have released already, namely the title song, Thippagalana, Baagundi Kada and Golusukattu Gosalu.

In the film, Suma is cast as a simple yet headstrong village woman, whose world revolves around her family. When her loved ones face a problem, it creates a conflict between her and a few elderly men in the village. Anush Kumar is the cinematographer of Jayamma Panchayathi, while Ravi Teja Girijala is the editor. The technical team also comprises art director Dhanu Andhluri and costume designer Hari Priya. Jayamma Panchayathi hits theatres on May 6.
